LEONURUS CARDIACA

- MOTHERWORT

Motherwort is a plant with a firm place in herbal healing over the ages. Indigenous to Europe and Asia and naturalised in North America, this is a wild weed in the eyes of many. Like all relatives of the sprawling mint family, growth can be prolific and needs to be managed.

Motherwort expresses a matriarchal energy of care and comfort, a plant to feel safe and comfort. This is the perfect plant remedy for any beings that need support easing anxiety, emotional burn outs, melancholy and depression.

This invocation of peace woven medicine, lifts the heart and drives away sad days while assisting in some cardiovascular symptoms such as irregular heartbeats, palpations and (speedy heartbeat) nervous tachycardia. This makes Motherwort an incredible ally to regulate hyperthyroidism, where heart palpations aplenty often occur.

Traditionally used as a tonic to calm the heart and the nerves surrounding it. Herbalist Susun Weed says that taking Motherwort each day helps new blood vessels grow to the heart. She calls it "a bypass in a bottle." A dose of 10 - 20 drops of tincture, taken several times a day can improve heart action, lower blood pressure and strengthen electrical activity in the heart.

Recently I have been inundated with messages that the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein coming from covid “vaccine” recipients to have heart attacks, migraines, blood clots, missed menstrual cycles. The side effects from the local unvaxxed community have been reported more recently after being in contact and close proximity to the vaccinated beings. They too are experiencing missed or late cycles, blood clotting during their cycle as well as heavy bleeding, horrible pain and prolonged cycles. I believe this will be addressed later on when there are more people reporting on it, officially.

For ovarian pain or a missing, stagnant or overzealous menstrual cycle, motherwort is indicated to encourage regulation and hormonal support. It is a key herb for use of menopause, addressing physical manifestations but also the emotional landscape as a woman transitions from mother to crone.

Supresses placenta according to Finley Ellingwood, "Motherwort is superior to all other remedies in suppression of lochia (afterbirth). By taking it internally and applying a fomentation of the herb over the lower abdominal region" the author has used it with excellent results (Wood, 2008).

Think of Motherwort as a much-needed warm, settling embrace to combat excess energy of the heart and mind, full or earthy nourishment and serene forces. Motherwort nurtures the uterus and calms the heart.

A small study published in Phyto therapy Research in 2011 included 50 people with high blood pressure and related psychological issues (such as anxiety)[6] . After 28 days of treatment with motherwort, 32 percent of participants showed a significant improvement in symptoms of anxiety and depression, while 48 percent of participants showed moderate improvement. There was also an improvement in blood pressure.
